Attempting to get my email history in order. Archives going back to 1994. AFTER initial deletions, and not including a lot of peripheral mailboxes for personal accounts, other rounding-error stuff: 343 mailboxes, 333129 messages, 12246 unread.
On the train to “go to work” for the first time since March 16, 2020. Muscle memory is helpful—gestures like “switch handbag to other shoulder to load knapsack” are eerily familiar despite lack of practice. The strangest part might be wearing shoes all day.
Did not expect to be so upset and moved by returning to campus. But it is deeply lovely to be meeting with people in person. Emptied March 2020 water from my water bottle. Investigated some Very Old Food. Had two sort of successful hybrid meetings!
