time to set some goals for 2026 instead of betting everything on one app, i’ve decided to build a small app portfolio this year no big vision talk, just concrete targets: - ship 12 apps - keep experimenting with marketing - reach at least $1k mrr - hit 5k followers on x and join the revenue sharing program - bench press 120kg i’ll only double down on marketing for the best-performing apps. all of this on top of still working a 9–5 and trying to put family first what are your plans for next year?

just crossed 5k followers today! it's funny how impossible some goals feel until you just keep showing up every single day one more goal off the list, onto the next one really grateful for everyone who's been following along

this music app is pulling $200k/month in a niche you wouldn't even think about most people think the music space is completely dominated by spotify or apple music but [untitled] found a massive loophole by focusing purely on musicians tracking their "work-in-progress" tracks proof that if you find a hyper-specific pain point and make the execution premium, people will happily pay

another variation of the "divorce effect" pulling millions of views right now people are purely watching for the crazy transformation payoff at the end but dropping the app's scanning UI right in the middle is the perfect way to sneak the product into the story

june is going to be more about distribution than building too many trips to work on the apps properly hopefully i can still sneak in enough marketing to keep things moving forward

making $1m/month in the hyper-crowded AI calorie counter space is insane foodvisor is doing 300k downloads a month and their monetization funnel is pure engagement bait - first they hit you with a premium, personalized plan summary - if you don’t convert, they push the standard 12-month paywall - if you still don't buy, they pull out a "spin the wheel" gamified discount - they literally rig the wheel to give you a 10% tease, make you spin again, and then drop a massive 75% off limited-time offer by the time the countdown timer starts, it feels like you won a lottery ticket instead of being sold a subscription gamifying your paywall is a massive cheat code for conversion

this app was basically dead for months made a small pivot last week 2 days later it got its first organic subscription maybe there was a lesson hidden in all those failures after all

first time in a long time i actually feel tired not from building not from posting but from trying to optimize something that feels completely random tiktok is just one giant black box to me really hard to improve when you don’t even know what you’re fighting against

$30k revenue from just 20k downloads is insane conversion gentler streak is the perfect example of high-LTV execution their onboarding is pure storytelling: - gamified character interactions - smooth explanations of core features - high-converting 50% off paywall right at the end you don't need millions of downloads if your onboarding funnel converts this well

no more messy mockups been using gpt images lately to clean up screenshots and make them look way more professional honestly really handy when you need a quick visual for your website or App Store page

finished working on a pretty big update for one of my apps today ended up changing the entire core feature, so this is more of a pivot than a regular update just pushed it to review and now i'm really curious to see how Apple reacts to it

onboarding isn't just about collecting user info it’s the highest leverage part of your conversion funnel minimalist (making $10k/mo) basically mastered this: - showcases features early on (focus timer, shared lists) - addresses user frustration visually - ends with a high-intent CTA ("yes, i'm ready") if your app’s retention drops in the first 60 seconds, your onboarding is likely the issue

started posting on a fresh TikTok account 4 days ago first video hit 1.2k views the next two got stuck below 30 paused posting for a day to see if the account recovers or if it’s completely cooked

this single AI video did over 3.5M views on TikTok what’s interesting is that the app doesn’t seem to be making a ton from it my guess is the content is optimized for virality, not conversion people are watching for the transformation not necessarily for the app itself

working on pivoting one of my old apps right now after realizing app store organic traffic isn't what it used to be, i don't see much point in endlessly releasing new apps most of my existing apps are already generating revenue feels like the smarter move is improving them and pushing marketing harder

X algo feels so random one day you’re getting thousands of impressions the next you’re barely breaking a few hundred seriously can’t understand why every algo tweak has to flip everything upside down
