I’m with my peeps. Great crowd in Toronto for the Push For Your Tush walk/run. Met several fellow colorectal cancer survivors and thrivers and we helped raise $75k for Colorectal Cancer Canada. If you’re of age get screened! A routine colonoscopy is the reason I’m alive today.

Coming to you this morning from my hospital room a piece about living with a temporary ostomy. Surgery to reverse it went fine. Hope this might help put someone else’s mind at ease. They can be a life saver. Thanks to @QuereshyMD and his UHN team.

Officials fighting #halifaxfire say they’re making progress and fire now 50% contained. Did not grow overnight. Hot day today so still concerned about possible flare ups. But hoping to make more progress and looking forward to rain in the forecast starting tomorrow.

Covering #NSFires. Cinnamon the cat was just reunited with family. Couple looking after their daughters’ home and kitty couldn’t get to them for 2 days because of evacuation. Volunteers and animal control helped find Cinnamon and get her out. She just enjoyed some treats.

Fans and mourners are filing past Gordon Lightfoot’s casket this afternoon. Public visitation today at the church in Orillia, ON where he was once a choir boy. Many hundreds lined up outside. A small private family funeral will take place on Monday.
