Totally agree with this. If you’re a new artist, continue learning the fundamentals of your craft.
My courses teach concepts developed in the 70s and 80s because they’re still extremely relevant. AI/ML tools only truly benefit the masters. Don’t skip the basics.
ghibli slop aside, Id like to highlight that if 2 years ago you opted to "learn AI tools to not get left behind" you'd have learned something to produce ghibli style images that is now obsolete. meanwhile, good art fundamentals still have value. learn how to actually do stuff.
