All cooking instructions on labels are suggestions. They don’t know my hardware like I do.

YouTube needs a revival. I literally don't like anything on that site anymore. All I do is rewatch old stuff. It's become 99% brainrot, sex, gore, and dudes trying to hack the algorithm for money. The Mr. Beast effect seems like the root cause, imo.

Actually, Beast not the root. But maybe the final blow. There was def a shift around 2012, then a big one during the ad-pocalypse in 2016/2017. Regardless, the damage has definitely been done, lol.

Dropped another VFX course. Over 8 hours of fundamental compositing knowledge. This is the last purely beginner course I'm releasing. Next course releasing May 6th. hollywoodvfx.com/course/imag…

Went on YouTube incognito for the first time and can now feel the tumor forming in my brain stem.

Just dropped a new VFX course. Teaching all about images and the attributes you need to know about when combining different types of footage together. All done in Nuke software. hollywoodvfx.com/course/imag…

Totally agree with this. If you’re a new artist, continue learning the fundamentals of your craft. My courses teach concepts developed in the 70s and 80s because they’re still extremely relevant. AI/ML tools only truly benefit the masters. Don’t skip the basics.
ghibli slop aside, Id like to highlight that if 2 years ago you opted to "learn AI tools to not get left behind" you'd have learned something to produce ghibli style images that is now obsolete. meanwhile, good art fundamentals still have value. learn how to actually do stuff.

I had a client last year (at a major film studio) try to use photoshop AI for their project, and they for the life of them couldn’t art direct it, so they had me rebuild the whole shot from scratch. AI tools are no replacement for artistic eye and fundamental knowledge.

Also, am not against AI/ML technology. Just the tech involved in theft. These tools are incredibly powerful and there are many that are not questionably immoral and being implemented into art/vfx studios as we speak. Learn the basics, then the new stuff. 👍

Teaching Nuke & Compositing right now. Got over 30 hours made so far and releasing it all over the next few weeks. Aiming to have over 100 hours by end of the year as courses slowly advance. But I'm starting with the basics before getting into the really cool stuff.
