What started off as a hunt in Bristol with @sidvee ahead of the 2nd ODI in England ended in Durban during the World Twenty20 a month later, that too on a day he was announced ODI captain. It appeared in Hindustan Times on Sept 20, 07 #DhoniRetires

Harsh Dubey's ODI debut was significant beyond the three wickets he picked up against Afghanistan. Before Saturday, Vidarbha's men's international representatives were Prashant Vaidya (who debuted for India while representing Bengal), Umesh Yadav, Faiz Fazal and Jitesh Sharma. Harsh now joins that list. For a region that has increasingly felt over the last decade that its sustained excellence in domestic cricket, across senior and age-group levels, hasn't always translated into national recognition, Harsh's rise - along with Jitesh's - offers something invaluable: hope. A reminder that performances can still be rewarded. And a belief that he won't be the last. Having followed Jitesh into India's colours, Harsh Dubey may well be the trailblazer for the next wave of Vidarbha cricketers waiting on the horizon.

US State dept readout of Jaishankar-Rubio call indicates sharp differences: "Secretary Rubio stressed that all commercial vessels should immediately comply with orders from U.S. forces as they seek to uphold peace and security in the Strait. ย He underscored that violations of the U.S. blockade and the illicit transport of Iranian oil will not be tolerated.
Spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this evening. I reiterated Indiaโ€™s strong protest at the attacks by the US Navy in the Gulf that killed three Indian mariners. Such lethal actions against commercial shipping are not justified.

Jaspal Rana's loss is for all of Indian sports fraternity, not just a plethora of shining stars on the shooting range. An achiever and a coach who was confident about his abilities, took a stand and took on the system whenever required, we'll need more Jaspal Ranas if Indian sport has to thrive. Someone who came across as a charming and jovial man during our limited interactions, it's a shocking exit for him. Gone too soon!!!

What sources wl say in 2026 : Hardik needs to get fully fit and bowl 10 overs, else his place is on the line. What sources wl say closer to 2027 WC: Hardik is the best all-rounder we have for SA conditions #HardikPandya

The selection panels may disagree. They may challenge. They may punish. But increasingly, decisions appear linked more to long-term planning than personality clashes. This does not automatically make every decision correct. But it makes the process easier to understand. - More on India's brave transition and the various layers surrounding it. thehindu.com/sport/cricket/tโ€ฆ Looks like we are heading into a very interesting phase
