There seems to be two kinds of Daily Akari puzzles:
- Progressive exploration puzzles, where you solve the clues one by one
- "Meta" puzzles where you need to find a specific trick, and it instantly solves
Both have its merits, but personally I enjoy trying to design the latter

Of course, you can always combine both and make a bigger or more difficult puzzle! But I think for the purpose of Daily Akari, the "theme" or "trick" of the puzzle should be clearly conveyed, and not too obfuscated... I'm not sure

From there, it is a series of "rescues". Remember that you can simply treat the diagonals as "reflectors", so you cannot put two lights adjacent to a reflector

Finally, the last cell of the innermost loop has to be "rescued", so you can then solve the remainder directly.
My first iteration of this board idea was much bigger and more complex, this is the streamlined version. Maybe I'll post that in the future...
