There have been a number of questions recently around XPL rewards on Plasma One, and we want to address them directly.
XPL rewards distributed through Plasma One are not new emissions. XPL used for rewards have been purchased by the Foundation treasury and that will continue for future Plasma One rewards.
More broadly, we’re fully committed to building Plasma around XPL and always have been. The development company is majority owned by the Foundation, and the entire team is directly aligned with the long-term success of XPL and nothing else.
As Plasma One is currently in beta, these rewards represent a de minimis amount of total spend. As we scale up Plasma One, we are partnering with the best in the space to provide the most sustainable and robust rewards and earn products to our users.
We are committed to a single asset framework and to ensuring that the team, investors, and community are aligned around that direction over the long term.
As Plasma One wins, so too does XPL.

Around two months after mainnet launch stablecoin supply and daily active addresses on Plasma have now stabilized. Incentives have been cut by more than 95% and stablecoin supply is holding organically at ~$2.1B.
Plasma’s Aave market is still the second largest in the world at $4.4B driven by a ~$2B organic USDT lending market. This is the credit foundation every product on Plasma depends on and exactly the outcome we wanted when bootstrapping our ecosystem.
Plasma is the 6th largest chain by DeFi TVL and the fastest growing in the top 10 over the past month even as we cut incentives aggressively.

There have been a few spikes in network activity on Plasma in the past day which stressed some external wallet infra. Because of this some EVM wallets are misestimating gas which causes certain transactions to fail for some users.
Plasma itself is fully healthy and producing blocks with zero downtime. If a transaction gets stuck, bumping gas manually should resolve any issues. As a reference anything around 500k or higher is more than enough currently on Plasma and costs will remain trivially small.
We are already working with all relevant wallet teams on a fix and making improvements to the node infrastructure so gas estimation stays more reliable for wallets and other teams as usage keeps growing.
