Today, I'm very excited to share a side project that I've been working on for the last few months. It's called Feedr.
Feedr is a new kind of multi-player RSS reader, focused on content discovery and creating meaningful dialog. You can request access at feedr.run
I vaguely recall an article or study describing that by the time women resign from their positions, they’ve been thinking about it for 6 months or more and are likely no longer retainable. Does anyone know a source for this?
I had a meeting today with 2 other women. Just us. We had a couple mins chat about something kinda feminine (our hair) to start. It was delightful, the whole vibe 💗 And rare 💔
I realized I’ve had career-y chats with 3 (!) former bosses recently. Feeling particularly grateful to have that kind of support ☺️ Thank you @kdaigle, @tbmcmullen, and @chadfowler 💪🏻❤️
Hello Friends,
What would you like to see Stripe writing about on our engineering blog? What stuff do you think we might be working on that would be interesting to you? Replies welcome, or penelope@stripe.com if you wanna talk longer form!
My advice includes:
* let ppl know the question(s) in advance: decouple thinking of an answer & delivering it to an unfamiliar group
* don’t use questions that could alienate or confuse anyone
* don’t make ppl be funny
Our dog Scout's name is proving tricky with my northern Irish accent. The doggy daycare staff were copying my pronunciation and calling him: "Scoot" 😳 I finally corrected that with, "like boy scouts" 🎉
And so TIL you can practice how to pronounce something in an American accent on Google 🤯
ALT screenshot of google pronunciation interface of the word 'Scout' with 'American pronunciation' selected. Result says this word "sounds like skowt" but that my voice sounds like "skait".
We're safe & sound with the Boulder fires.
Smaller fires caused evacuation and power outages for our area this afternoon but were handled by the fire service.
We’re watching from afar the big fire raging to the south of the city 😨
One of many things I’m grateful for today: @adelcambre being so clear and helpful with our neighborhood comms. He’s been like incident commander with the recent situations 🙇🏼♀️
ALT Screenshot of group text. Main message: Andy telling neighbors, “we have power and all indications are that the fire by us has been contained. They said they are monitoring it but it’s not a cause for concern at this point. Our evacuation orders have been lifted.”
