With GPT 5.5, I don’t want better models anymore. I want cheaper models and a better execution environment. I do not need more intelligence. I need better tools, a better ecosystem, and a lot more tokens.

Been using DeepSeek v4 flash a fair bit. Really good model. Absolutely nothing out there that is a patch on GPT 5.5 though. I’m not even sure why we would ever need anything to be better at this point. #wontagewell

Hammered qwen coder next this weekend. It’s one of the best local models I’ve used. But I’m still amazed at just how much better GPT is. It’s in a different league entirely. OpenAI figured out how to teach models how to actually think in a way no one else has done.

For tricky stuff: 5.4 high or 5.5 low? That is the question. For anything else it’s 5.4 mini high all the way.

Maybe I should start actually posting again about actual shit I know about? X has become my rage against the machine. Probably not very useful.

America seems to be doing a great job of uniting the rest of the world against them. That is truly impressive in such a short space of time.

The optics don’t look great on this one Sam…

Tonight, we reached an agreement with the Department of War to deploy our models in their classified network. In all of our interactions, the DoW displayed a deep respect for safety and a desire to partner to achieve the best possible outcome. AI safety and wide distribution of benefits are the core of our mission. Two of our most important safety principles are prohibitions on domestic mass surveillance and human responsibility for the use of force, including for autonomous weapon systems. The DoW agrees with these principles, reflects them in law and policy, and we put them into our agreement. We also will build technical safeguards to ensure our models behave as they should, which the DoW also wanted. We will deploy FDEs to help with our models and to ensure their safety, we will deploy on cloud networks only. We are asking the DoW to offer these same terms to all AI companies, which in our opinion we think everyone should be willing to accept. We have expressed our strong desire to see things de-escalate away from legal and governmental actions and towards reasonable agreements. We remain committed to serve all of humanity as best we can. The world is a complicated, messy, and sometimes dangerous place.

Someone needs to do @moltbook but for GitHub. Agents creating a new open source community. No humans allowed. What would they write?

Trump is going to usher in another 9/11. Except this time America won’t have allies. They won’t have joint intelligence. They may not even have air bases at this rate. Idiot. The great unmaking.

Dear America. What are you doing? Your silence is baffling.

I have tried long and hard to like Liquid Glass. But now I can confidently say: I don’t. It’s garbage.

Ok I think I’ve got this: if you’re on the right you blame the immigrants. if you’re on the left you blame the rich. And if you’re in the middle, you blame the left and the right.

Just call. Don't schedule, don't send me a link to pick a time, don't show me your open slots, just pick up the phone and call. I'll answer or I'll call you back. I bet we'll naturally find a time to talk that day. It'll all work out.

A good time to become a roofer
Microsoft just released their list of the 40 jobs most AI-applicable and the 40 jobs least AI-applicable. This list may have overlap with replaceability and job transformation. (Phlebotomists, you've got nothing to worry about.)
