Supabase has raised $500M at a $10B valuation In this round we are giving @supabase employees the opportunity to cash out 25% of their vested options. We have done this in every round since inception. We do it as a “cashless transaction” so that employees don’t need to front any cash to exercise their options. This is the friendliest way we could design it until we can offer RSUs. On top of that, we give employees a 10 year exercise window: whether they stay or leave the company. The typical/default window is 3 months. IMO, equity is earned and employees shouldn't be penalized because they don't have the cash to exercise within 3 months of leaving a job (often that's the time they need the cash/certainty the most).

Mass-generating PRs with your agents and clawbots isn't helping open source. It's quietly burning out the people who actually maintain it. Please stop.

> They’ll recommend Supabase today and something better tomorrow Ironically the way we got to this point was to make it incredibly easy for our users to migrate away This Principle has been in our docs for 5 years now:

Happy holidays 🎁. You can now continuously sync your @stripe data to @supabase with one click. This is an open source collab: the Stripe engineers contributed the following improvements to our Sync Engine: ◆ JSONB storage with generated columns for flexibility without sacrificing query performance ◆ Incremental sync using Stripe's cursor-based pagination and Supabase Queues ◆ Multi-account support for Stripe Connect platforms ◆ New CLI with proper event ordering

Ab wann bin ich 🇩🇪 Deutscher? Hier geboren. Deutsche Familie (Mit Dagmars, Anne-Maries, Erichs & Co). Hier aufgewachsen. Kein anderen Pass. Karriere hier. Unternehmen hier gegründet und aufgebaut. Arbeitsplätze geschaffen. Familie hier gegründet. Sehr sehr viele Steuern gezahlt. 0 Tage arbeitslos in 40 Jahren.

Just discovered my 19 year old daughter has an OnlyFans account I was devastated She clearly must not be registered as a sole proprietor with the the German Trade Office I sat her down and asked how much she'd made She said €4,200 I nearly collapsed That's at least €1,890 in unreported VAT obligations She started crying but I did the only thing a good father could do We spent the entire weekend filling out forms together She's now fully compliant with a business registration and tax ID Makes €340/month after taxes and social contributions I've never been more proud of her Only 19 and already an online entrepreneur She has a bright future ahead of her

many of us at @stripe are fans of @supabase (they have great taste for dev tools), so it’s extra pleasant we can help them. a few fun stats they’ve shared: - they now sell in 150 counties - $100K / month in _extra_ revenue from auth optimizations - 39% of transactions use Link - 45% win rate on chargebacks over $50 via automated disputes And they built an open source stripe/postgres sync engine. read more: stripe.com/customers/supabas…

The majestic monolith remains undefeated for the vast majority of web apps. Replacing method calls with network calls makes everything harder, slower, and more brittle. It should be the absolute last resort. youtube.com/watch?v=rkXGSLf-…
At a past company, the head of engineering and the principal engineers decided to break our Ruby on Rails application into a Go microservices mesh. They created very detailed design documents and architecture diagrams. They went all out and used Kubernetes, gRPC, service templates, the whole shebang. The whole senior engineering leadership came from Amazon, where they were used to each team owning a distinct service. They tried to apply that model directly. But our issues were with code ownership and poor domain modeling. The entire application could have run on just a handful of EC2 instances. What was the result? Five years later, 70% of the application is still running on the Ruby on Rails monolith. Never completed the migration. But now they have to maintain two systems. None of the original leadership works there anymore.

We've sat down with the good folks at @stripe to do a case study for @supabase Stripe has been with us since day one, so we’ve never had to worry about payments. It’s not an easy domain, but we know that Stripe is the right partner as we scale and add new payment methods, adopt a global account structure, start collecting taxes, and eventually go public. We're confident that Stripe will continue to support our scale and growing needs for a payment provider.
