Today we celebrated the dedication of a beautiful new mural at Uŋčí Makhá Park. Titled “As Above, So Below; Seeing Ourselves in the Creation Story", the new mural honors the Dakota Creation Story through the lens of artists Missy Whiteman, Elissa Cedarleaf Dahl & @RightTrackSP.

"Being good humans to other human beings is the best way to go about life. No matter what side you're on, no matter what color you are, at the end of the day we're in this world together and we have to figure out how to make it work together." @BubbaWallace
Here's where click-bait bullshit is dumb. These headlines don't match the story and overlook an inspiring message (and as a result, inspire a flood of racist comments).
"...Because at the end of the day, life is so much more than just yourself. For us, being able to provide opportunities for families and kids to feel special for an hour or two hours, three hours, a week, whatever it is, helps me sleep at night."

Fun stats on reading here. According to the deeper data, at more than 50 books a year, I’m in the top 1% (no word on more than 160 books, which is about where I’m at so far this year).

pretty amazing stat:
only 54% of Americans have read a single book this year
and print books are thriving relative to digital (which surprises me!). I mostly do audiobooks/kindle these days
some more details:
- women mostly reading mystery/romance
- men mostly reading history/scifi
- 82% of Americans read 10 or fewer books.
- men (58%) are more likely than women (53%) to read for work or school.
- only 32% of the US population reads books for pleasure.
- print books are more popular than e-books or audio books.
- adults with a household income of less than $30,000 are more likely to be non-readers than those with a household income of $75,000 or more.
