Not that surprised N95 respirators significantly outperformed masks, but I am surprised that cloth masks were better at reducing exhaled SARS-CoV-2 virus compared to surgical masks! 😷
A duckbill N95 reduced exhaled viral load by 98% (95% CI: 97%–99%), and significantly outperformed a KN95 (p < 0.001) as well as cloth and surgical masks. Cloth masks outperformed a surgical mask (p = 0.027) and the tested KN95 (p = 0.014).

*howl* Happy Full Moon 🌕 Did you know some bat scientists theorize moon phases impact bat behavior? While some think full moons may support bat hunting efforts, others think full moons make bats more susceptible to predators, causing them to choose to reduce activity that night. 📷Jeroen van der Kooij 🦇Burmese whiskered myotis #FullMoon #PinkMoon
