Seeing the aurora has always been something I have wanted to do. Thought I would have to travel to Tassie or further.
Last night I saw my first one and only had to walk to my front gate.
Amazing.

After a few attempts I found a Spotless Crake this morning. As per usual it was hiding but occasionally ducking out in the clear. I crouched as still as possible, looking down the lens and just waiting for my opportunity for a snap of this shy bird

1st July.
Still waiting for the first frost.
8 years ago used to arrive mid to late May.
I used to put frost covers over my sensitive plants. Not sure if I will need to this year.
