So grateful for this kind and generous review of my first book! I may not be in the academic game anymore, but I really appreciated reading this.
"Intra-Protestant disputes over ecclesiology and duties of obedience are a product of logically prior contests over the origins of political authority." @kmschultz24 @EdinburghUP northamanglican.com/book-rev…

No better way to finish off my final academic trip to Rome than a 30km/19 mile hike to Castel Gandolfo ♥️

Office keys turned in, so that's a wrap on my time at St Andrews as I head away to Rome for a final research trip. Very grateful to have had the opportunity to work here for the past few years. ♥️

Chuffed to see that my work on the Aberdeen Doctors and the National Covenant got a nice mention in @kmschultz24's new book, 'Protestantism, Revolution and Scottish Political Thought: The European Context'.

Author copies finally arrived (two weeks before I leave my academic career, of course 😂). But good to see them nevertheless!

We are now welcoming applications for the role of Secretary. If you’d like to take a key role in our society and can fulfil the necessary duties then please do consider applying. We’re so sad to lose amazing @kmschultz24! A big loss to #ScottishHistory
Along with leaving academia, I am sadly also stepping down as Secretary of @ScottishHistSoc , so we are advertising for a new person to fill the role (deadline 28 May). Please do consider applying to carry on the work of this wonderful society, and reach out with any questions!

Finishing up my final academic commitment this month (critical edition of Rutherford's Lex, Rex). Bittersweet that I began my PhD with Rutherford and this text in 2016, and now I'll end my academic career with him too!

I’m so grateful for my time in academia over the past few years, and especially for the opportunities I’ve had to do amazing research in incredible places (like this ⬇️) with wonderful friends and colleagues. I will really miss all of this. (2/3)

Ultimately, however, with 1/4 of UK universities currently laying off staff and no end in sight to temporary, short-term contracts/job insecurity, it just felt like the right time to go. So for now, I shall move swiftly on to the next adventure and all that awaits ahead! (3/3)

Apparently I'm not allowed to work on my paper about the Scottish Parliament, even though I'm already late on the deadline 🤣
