The Met Office has issued an extreme heat warning for next week. Please remember the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke especially for older and medically vulnerable people. Early intervention to cool people down and rehydrate them can be lifesaving.

Getting a bit weary of the "heatwave will affect everyone, not just the vulnerable" line being trotted out. It's like COVID all over again - only to be taken seriously when its effects reach beyond those of us who are inconveniently disabled, elderly, etc.

What these kinds of commenters fail to realise is our world is now calibrated for the improved living standards we've attained.
Cars, phones, internet &c are more necessary in order to work, shop, learn & access critical services.
Plus cold & lack of hygiene are health issues.

If we believe our current politicians we will balance the government’s budget but at the same time let people starve, see the elderly die of cold and watch our planet fail because they say we cannot afford the risk to create the money required to save people and life on earth.
