Quarter-sized hail just shredded my daughter’s garden she’s been working so hard to maintain all summer. Cucumbers, squash, zucchini, melons, the entire herb garden. Gone in minutes. The houses around us are wearing the shredded leaves after that flash flood.

Happy birthday to the late Elijah McCoy! He invented a superior automatic oiling system for steam locomotives which allowed them to operate longer without the need to stop.
His invention was the origin of the phrase "The Real McCoy" when people wanted his superior products!
