Don't forget people are still hurting. The storm passed, but these people in WNC and ETN are far from moving on. Pray. Help if you can. SHARE their stories.

You are right ! These were wonderful years of friendship and partnership. Enjoy your time dear Mrs. Kosieniak. We enjoyed every minute of meeting you and your wonderful pupils. Love from Israel and you are always welcome to visit.
A5. cont. I probably (is that possible?) spend TOO much time discussing the various ways to solve/see it. I have a few students who do it completely different than what the "expected" structure would be. #2ndchat
A5. Now THIS happens a lot in my classroom. The best part is letting the kids tell how they SEE it and how they THOUGHT it. I love to watch them share their thinking...it naturally leads to this. #2ndchat
A3. I think that might depend on the student. For many, it might help. However, I have one student in mind currently who struggles w/reading, yet is very smart! He has great listening compr. & sees in big pictures. I think this would confuse him not help. #2ndchat
A2. We always highlight "What we know" and underline "what we're trying to find out." We talk through what is not important (all the unnecessary words!) #2ndchat
A1. I don't believe so. I feel we've MADE it seem the same. I always tell my students math is real world. I explain the various way I - and others - need to problem-solve in our worlds. #2ndchat
We are excited for tonight’s #2ndchat ! Our guest moderator is @MathCoachCorner and is speaking about “Word Problem Comprehension “! Join us tonight at 8 EST #elemmath#1stchat#3rdchat set those alarms! Please invite your friends!
A5. New Kid on the Block (the actual poem itself) is great for teaching visualizing. I have the kids sketch what they think the kid looks like as I read. They are always surprised at the end! #2ndchat
A4. After we read and learn about each type of poem, the kids would write one of their own. At the end, they have a poetry journal to take home. #2ndchat
