We’re working with @MCASBeaufortSC to locate an F-35 that was involved in a mishap this afternoon. The pilot ejected safely. If you have any information that may help our recovery teams locate the F-35, please call the Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600.

I find myself torn. When I do worldbuilding, I often do have conflict or animosity between the various groups (races/species/ancestries) of my world, & between ethnic groups within an individual people. 1/🧵

Like I said, the marginalization of "the other" it's not meant to be easy to read. It's meant to confront the subject, to confront the institutional racism & the "excused" racism. It's meant to show that we need to do better.

It's also an attempt for me to confront implicit bias in myself. To break free from the things I learned growing up, the things that don't stand out as open racism. I know I can do better, and my work is designed to be a vessel for change.

Do I wish we didn't have to choose between two senior citizens & could elect someone closer to my own age? Do I wish we didn't have to choose Red or Blue? Yes.
But now is not the time to worry about expanding the choices. Now is the time to keep fascism out of our government.
