📢 Fortnite Developer Chat – UEFN Workflows Recap Heavy Scene Graph and prefab workflow updates in this one. Lots of quality of life improvements plus real collaboration tooling on the horizon. Here’s what was announced 👇 1️⃣ Drag & Drop Upgrades • Prefabs now show a proper placement preview before dropping • Drag assets directly as Entities instead of Actors via Editor Preference toggle • Drag & drop works inside Prefab Editor • Drag & drop works inside Edit In Place • Auto-naming of entities based on asset • Faster save-to-prefab workflow • Multi-selection drop supported This significantly speeds up converting assets into Scene Graph entities. 2️⃣ Selection Hierarchy Improvements • Click cycles through nested prefab hierarchy levels • Better drilling into embedded prefabs • Shift Left / Right expands and collapses full hierarchy • Expanded/collapsed state persists during session Deep prefab stacks are now much easier to manage. 3️⃣ Edit In Place Improvements • Clearer isolation visuals with grayed-out world • Cleaner bottom toolbar • Duplicate inside Edit In Place now stays within context • Drag & drop works directly inside Edit In Place • Pending changes indicator added New UI flow mockups shown for a cleaner confirm / cancel experience. 4️⃣ Outliner Upgrades • Type column added for quick prefab navigation • Alerts column for uninitialized properties • Native vs Custom component filtering • Optional “Show Components” inside Outliner You can now: • Multi-select entities • Edit shared component values in bulk • Adjust transforms across multiple entities at once Major usability improvement for large prefab structures. 5️⃣ Details Panel Refactor • Component outliner integrated into Details panel • Proper category support • Multi-selection support • Foundation laid for improved override handling The old card layout is temporarily removed while they rebuild it properly. 6️⃣ Lumen in Prefab Editor This is a big one. • Lumen lighting now works inside the Prefab Editor • Real lighting preview while building prefabs • Faster visual iteration without placing into world Note: Each open prefab editor uses additional VRAM. 7️⃣ One File Per Entity Per Prefab (In Development) Upcoming: • Split prefab contents into separate files • Multiple team members can work inside the same prefab • Reduced file contention • Better multi-user collaboration This is aimed directly at studio workflows. 8️⃣ Replace Workflow Improvements (Coming) • Smarter Replace Selected menus • Context-aware replacement suggestions • Recently used support • Replace in place without breaking hierarchy • Preserve overrides during replacement Replacing meshes and prefabs is getting much cleaner. 9️⃣ Override & Debug Tools (Coming) • Clear all overrides quickly • Trace where overrides were introduced in nested prefabs • Restore deleted entities and components • Cleaner override icon feedback Debugging prefab chains is becoming much more transparent. 🔟 UI Cleanup • Reduced visual noise in override icons • Cleaner outliner signals • Improved component display structure

I will stop if you could give us a reason why this is allowed to go on for months with no penalty to the creators. I keep reading how REAL creators are getting shutout of DISCOVERY for maps they have worked on for months. But creators who create a copy in an hour get repeated exposure. Tell us WHY, please.
