I got sick from overworking myself and haven’t posted any art for almost a month but I’m finally starting to feel like I’ve recovered enough to hopefully start posting again soon :)

Study Mapping out simplified values is a very useful exercise to train your eye to see composition more effectively.

I’m certain that the most sustainable way to draw digitally is with a traditional non-screen tablet placed on the lap while sitting up straight to reduce posture-induced injuries as much as possible. Tablets on the table whether traditional or screen just never made sense to me.

I feel like anything that requires angling your neck forward is an automatic neck killer along with back pain. Sitting upright, tablet on lap, one hand drawing with tablet pen and other hand on keyboard for keyboard shortcuts other manual functions is my go-to and it works.

Study Doing value studies is very fulfilling and relaxing to me. Honestly I will forever prefer doing art studies on paper unless it’s a color study then doing it digitally makes more sense

Study More perspective sketches. You can build anything from a basic cube or sphere when you stack them together, modify them, etc.

Study I haven’t done value studies in a while so here’s some with pen and markers. Breaking down the values of a composition is fun!

I haven’t been doing much meaningful personal art these days because I am just that tired but studies are a nice way to keep my mind and hand active.

Study Drawing even just one page of perspective studies a day can add up to a lot with time. I like to do these after waking up or before bedtime.

Study Gesture drawing sports edition. They often have some *very* dynamic poses that are excellent for studying. Do you do a sport? Do you draw? Do you do a sport AND draw?

Study Sometimes it’s easy to fall into a perfectionism trap but I always remind myself that I have my pen in my hand to have fun with it and that’s what I’m gonna do! Have fun with your pen too!

Study Drawing boxes all day can seem a little uninteresting but understanding form and perspective is the foundation to drawing anything. It’s actually quite therapeutic once it becomes intuitive
