It’s day 4 of #summerlearningweek and @TCSBoardofEd is spending the day advocating for summer learning programs on Capitol Hill. Our students did an AMAZING job telling why summer learning programs are so important and sharing stories of how they have been positively impacted!

Investments in education from @GovernorKayIvey & the Legislature, along with policies passed by the #ALBOE, have made a significant impact in 3rd Grade Reading scores and we are committed to continuing the upward trajectory #alabamaachieves#weteachalabama
The Alabama Literacy Act was passed in 2019 to help improve reading in AL public schools to ensure students are reading on grade level by the end of the 3rd grade.

The US DOE is launching the Engage Every Student recognition program to recognize LEAs & CBOs providing access to high-quality summer & after-school learning programs. We want Alabama's programs to be considered for this honor. Use the link to apply.
What an impactful day of student-centered coaching in Fort Payne City's Little Ridge IS! It was exhilarating to watch the joy on the Ss faces as they engaged in active vocabulary learning. Reflective conversations around student learning - green & growing!💚

This grant is funded through the ALSDE to implement/enhance existing afterschool and/or summer learning programs. Funds must be used to accelerate Pre-K–12 learning in the areas of reading & STEM through active learning & academic enrichment activities.
