I’m proud to announce $3,150,000 in federal funding to help launch the Sacramento Stitch Riverfront Reconnection Project. Where I-5 runs through Sacramento once stood thriving communities—Japantown, the West End, families, small businesses, culture, and connection. That history was torn apart when the freeway divided downtown from the riverfront. We cannot undo that harm. But we can choose what comes next—reconnecting what was divided and creating a future that brings people together. That’s what this project is about.

This once-in-a-lifetime moment happens when sun rays hit Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park, at the perfect angle, creating a glowing lava flow. Thousands of people gather at the same spot to witness this rare event almost every year.
