The day before the World Cup kicks off, and soccer ⚽️ balls are popping up all over Dallas — including in the “Cattle Drive” 🐮 sculpture downtown at Pioneer Plaza. The FIFA International Broadcast Center is located at the convention center nearby and appeared busy. @FWC26Dallas

A carpet of Indian blanket / firewheel wildflowers at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake recently. A great spot to visit in Dallas to see some Texas wildflowers.

An almost full moon over Dallas last night, in the waxing gibbous phase. The full moon 🌕 will be on Sunday night. I like the color layers in this photo, but my dad pointed out that it’s the ozone and air pollution showing. 😬

Some animals inside the herpetarium (for reptiles and amphibians) spotted at the Dallas Zoo yesterday. This is my five-year-old son’s favorite place at the zoo. 💚

I enjoyed watching my friend and mentor, journalist Dianne Solis, in conversation with writer ✍️ Reyna Grande, author of “Migrant Heart,” at Arts & Letters Live at the Dallas Museum of Art last night. I also caught up with my writer friends Stella Chavez and Joanna Cattanach. ❤️

I spotted this mama duck and her nine or so ducklings at White Rock Lake in Dallas. The water was choppy because it was so windy and the waves were splashing and tossing the little ducklings 🐥 about, so they kept venturing into this calmer little inlet along the shoreline.
