I’d love to see this:
1. A handful of character intros like old school espn / wsop episodes: plumber battles the pros, satty winner still alive, crusher goes for record, etc, and cover a few in pregame show
2. Continue this red zone style jumping around to key spots, lean more focus on characters from intros
3. Have
@jeffplatt in between hands pull a few characters for a quick how are you feeling interview, hit up their family and friends on the rail too!
4. More “progress stats” reporting, like chip leader has fallen to x, plumber increased stack by y and is now top z, player a’s vpip strategy seems to be working out well
I think this leans into some formulas that have worked for other broadcasts, and maybe “red zone” is the right answer for what can be monotonous gameplay
There’s something about watching the same high rollers getting it in with 99 AK against eachother on repeat for the last 3 years that I just can’t watch the stream for more than a few minutes. Every now and again there will be an incredible hand that makes me fall in love with poker again, but they’re always clipped and easy to see standalone.
Also no interest in high stakes cash whales randomly flipping for infinite.
Because of huge over exposure to NLH streams it dilutes the excitement of main event streams since we have it available basically 365 days a year.
Things I’d love to watch/tune in for
- 10k mix championship fts with household legends
- Random rags to riches FTs
