Idk man, but this just keeps pissing me off:
I know that when I share my photos online, they’ll get stolen, reposted, whatever. That’s the price you pay when you’re a photographer, I guess.
That’s why I post them EVERYWHERE. I want people to share them. I just want it to be obvious who they came from.
But somehow some of you dumb little fucks still manage to repost them without credit. Or even worse: slap some ugly Instagram filter over them and post them as if you improved them. Fuck that.
And I know every fandom is like this, but somehow it feels worse in the Bad Omens fandom.
Recently I posted some Black Veil Brides photos and every fanpage was like, “Hey, can we post them if we credit you?”
OF COURSE YOU CAN.
You don’t even have to ask me as long as you give me those damn credits.
And just to be clear: I’m ONLY talking about photos/videos that I post PUBLICLY.
If you screen-record photos/videos from my PRIVATE Instagram (sarahtdopom), then we have a fucking problem.

Hey guys, please always ask for permission before you repost content from other people from other platforms. Even if you give credit, you should always ask for their approval. Not everyone is cool with their stuff being shared outside of the original platform.

I’ve been listening to Bad Omens for almost 6 years now. Seeing them blow up after TDOPOM has been incredible. They deserve it.
But sometimes I feel like parts of the fandom are becoming bigger than the music itself.
AI-generated images of band members kissing strangers they’ve never met. Fans camping outside venues for 24 hours before a show. People treating real human beings like fictional characters created solely for their entertainment.
Concerts are supposed to be places where people come together. Places where you make memories, find friends, and feel understood through music. NOT places associated with anxiety, competition, harassment, or trauma.
A video that means everything to you gets turned into a thirst trap without a single mention of the person who filmed it. You meet a band member, take a photo you’ll treasure forever, and later find that same photo online with yourself cropped out because someone only cared about the artist’s face.
“Wow, he looks so good.”
Cool. But that picture might have been someone’s dream come true!!
I never thought I’d say this, but sometimes I’m more afraid of losing my connection to my favorite band because of parts of the fandom than because of the band itself.
