P6/7 have been learning about water & were looking at how water may act in flooding situations by examining the speed & power of water along with saturation of surface & space it fills. This explained what happened in Lamlash last Friday when homes were flooded. @NAC_STEM

Primary 6/7 are learning about water through @scottish_water Keep Scotland Flowing. They were hydrologists & measured the playground to calculate run off for October. Allowing for some absorption on grass there would have been over 400 cubic metres. @NAC_STEM #outdoorlearning

It's been a busy week so far with #WorldBeeDay and P6/7 making bee bombs to put in the wildlife garden. Today was #Biodiversity and #NationalNumeracyDay so we combined them with a @microbit_edu coding session to count biodiversity in the playground @NAC_STEM #ThisisLife #SDG15

Primary 5/6 and 6/7 had a fantastic day with @rangers_na and @NAC_STEM visiting the beach and doing a bioblitz in the playground as part of the 'Go Wild!' resource. Amazing what we have on our doorstep! Learning about our biodiversity helps with the @KSBScotland #LEAFProject

The 'Arty Builders' team in Primary 6 from @lamlashprimary and @whitingbayps were selected by the Primary 7's as the winning entry to represent the schools for the #Academy9 #RoadsOfTheFuture challenge which addressed #UNSDGs and used plenty of #metaskills

We held our #BSW24 school science fair run by the STEM Committee. Classes shared their learning along with activities from the school STEM experts! Parents came along to see what was happening and had a go at the paper plane challenge @NAC_STEM #STEMNation

Primary 6/7 task on #EngineeringEducates to design a new cow shed. Pupils tried @tinkercad for the first time and did an amazing job, even including a cow brush scratcher inspired by watching @TPFarmLife. Tomorrow's task is making butter @SSERCofficial @NAC_STEM #ThisisLfS #SDG2
