Bill C-35 signals a significant shift in Canada’s approach to blocking goods made with forced labour. The proposed reverse-onus, requiring importers to prove goods are free of forced labour & stronger powers for CBSA are steps Unifor has long called for. 🧡nationalpost.com/news/ottawa…

What they are saying is destroy workers’ Charter rights to appease Donald Trump and the big corporations in Canada owned by American shareholders. They can pound sand. Not on our watch.

Senator @WellsDavid: not only is this an affront to the Charter rights of workers it completely misses how collective bargaining transforms society for the betterment of all. But perhaps that is the point. Big corps with American shareholders are cheering you on tonight.
Unifor is appalled by the recommendations issued in a recent report by the Senate Committee on Transport and Communications, which advocates for the imposition of labour contracts in the marine and transportation sectors through binding arbitration, instead of through collective bargaining. unifor.org/news/all-news/uni…

Workers are facing a crisis and their unions are fighting everyday to protect jobs. These Senators think it’s ok to exploit this very difficult moment and try to roll back workers rights. Capitulating to big corporations over workers. Just shameful.

Canadian oil makes up ***62%*** of the amount of oil the U.S. imports and ***25%*** of every barrel that goes into U.S. refineries. how's that for "energy independence"? let that sink in.
Trump: "Hey, we don't need anything that Canada has, we don't know anything that Mexico has, but they need everything that we have. And they have to treat us better."
