@CityDetect is an AI-driven platform helping cities across North America proactively manage and mitigate urban decay. City Detect’s approach is simple but powerful. They use fleet vehicles equipped with cameras to capture images of city properties. These images are then processed by their AI, identifying and mapping issues affecting properties. The result is detailed, actionable reports that inform decision-making and strategic planning for cities urban design, planning, and development goals.
City Detect’s innovative platform uses cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology to detect and analyze over 100 urban elements, such as graffiti, code violations, illegal dumping, and abandoned properties. By providing real-time, actionable data, City Detect empowers municipalities to make informed decisions, optimize resource allocation, and address urban decay before it escalates.
Based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, City Detect was founded by Army veteran and entrepreneur Gavin Baum-Blake and Dr. Erik Johnson, an urban economist and AI expert. Together, they have built a comprehensive system that integrates data collection and analytics to revolutionize urban management.
"City management is no longer just about reacting to issues; it's about using data to prevent them," said Gavin Baum-Blake, Co-Founder and CEO of City Detect. "With City Detect, local leaders can address urban blight before it becomes a larger crisis, improving community safety and quality of life."
The funding will enable City Detect to scale its AI capabilities, enhance its platform, and expand its team to meet the growing demand from municipalities nationwide. Early adopters, including cities like Birmingham, Atlanta, and Stockton, have already demonstrated the platform’s effectiveness in diverse urban settings.
"City Detect is revolutionizing urban management with its proactive approach to tackling urban decay. Their AI-powered platform provides cities with the tools they need to create cleaner, more sustainable environments," said Dean Hatton, Founding Partner at LOVC. "We are proud to support their growth and mission to improve the quality of life in cities across North America."
