"In 1912, almost 40 and with only a few poems published, Frost sold his farm and used an annuity from his grandfather to go to England and gamble everything on poetry." - encyclopedia.com/people/lite…

Unnecessary risk leads to easy losses. Online offshore gambling casinos are unregulated risk, with no protections against fraud. #PlayItSafeWa

The @WAGambling account needs to cut it out with their terrible meaningless AI messages. In this one, a glowing butt with a "WA LEGAL" shield plug emits fraud and scams, but can't be penetrated by data theft. Meanwhile, dealers and players hang out on the same side of the tables.
Legal gambling in Washington includes strict oversight and consumer protections. Illegal platforms skip these safeguards—leaving players exposed to fraud, unfair play, and financial loss. #PlayItSafeWa

Terrible's, which closed the last Jean casino in March 2020, will take over Primm, a market it once operated. It seems like a good match.
Terrible's reaches agreement with Primm family to keep businesses, community open “Shared goals” to preserve the area’s legacy while growing prompt the family to partner with the location’s previous operator to avoid a July 4 shutdown. @TheNVIndy thenevadaindependent.com/art…

Two Uber drivers, the doorman at Wynn, and a guy from Texas agree with @joshd on Oyster Bar. At 1 AM, Tex and I were at Palace Station’s Ultimate Hold ‘Em table for almost two hours while his wife waited in line and he complained about not being able to open carry in the casino.

I honestly would likely just not leave Palace Station. I like their game mix and Oyster Bar is so good I could likely eat half my meals there. I pretty much do this at Durango now and just drive to other offstrips or downtown for the free plays. Strip has almost no appeal to me

4-night total: $269 (bus fare $8, cabs Uber $214, hotel $47) MGM bottom tier would have cost me $180, plus $90 in rideshare. In the end, it's a wash. I got to check off two new-to-me hotel stays, but miss the convenience of the Strip. (A rental car would have been $272 gas)
Checked out of Palace Station and dropped my bag at Caesars Fremont Nugget (room not ready yet). On the CX bus back to the Strip. Once this trip is over, I’m gonna dig into my numbers to see if my savings from my free off-strip room was lost in cabs and rideshare.

Shout out to Dom at Chandelier, who introduced me to the New York Sour (with Pinot Noir) and in two drinks on an empty stomach, got me tipsier than I’ve been in a while. Need to soak it up with shiu mai at China Poblano.

It’s my last morning in town and I woke up downtown. That means, of course, I’m starting Monday morning playing bingo at @PlazaLasVegas with the other old folks.

It’s weeks like this where I miss the no-nonsense insight (well, a little nonsense) of the @vegasgang podcast.

At Fontainebleau’s Solo Lounge, I finally — finally! — hit my first quads of the trip, playing at a higher level than usual thanks to FB-designated funds I received for Christmas. Celebrated this $125 win by going down the street for a $4.39 hot fudge sundae from McDonalds.

Oh, yeah. This reminded me of the two drunk German McDonald’s franchisees at Chandelier yesterday who accidentally stole my seat and attempted to apologize: “so sorry. you want women? we can get you women.” I declined. #ImLovinItLongTime

After breakfast at Peppermill, I walked to Fontainebleau for a day of horse betting. Unfortunately, all but one screen were soccer and tennis. Free loop ride to Westgate, I guess.

When I sat down at Luxor’s $5 blackjack table (yes, 6:5) there was still one seat open. When I left, there was one seat taken. This is at 6 PM on a Friday night. Good news for us bargain hunters.

I’m super rusty and was trying to use a blurry strategy card, and was still playing miles better than the other players. In the 45 minutes I played, I was the only one who split, the only one who doubled, and the only one who didn’t stand on 16 against a dealer face card.

Me, in March: Kesha’s playing MGM in May. I’ll plan a trip. I might as well buy No Doubt tix as well. Me, in April: She cancelled! Pivot? Oh, Rod Stewart! Done. Yesterday: If I land at LAS on time, I’ll have just enough time to catch BTS. [two hour flight delay ensues] Today:

I’m guessing they don’t allow hugs or groping under the canopy either.
