Such a powerful post. Being at school doesn't necessarily mean students are learning. We as teachers have to engage students when they are at school so they don't wish they were at home! :-)

Being absent from school?
OR
Being bored at school?
Both have an effect size of -0.46 or a over a year's worth of lost learning potential
This means we need to place as much urgency on getting learners engaged as we do getting them to school
