Medical consensus supports gender-affirmative care. But mainstream publications treat what should be understood as a fundamental human rights battle more like a semantic debate, resulting in stories that undermine the experts & endanger trans lives. vox.com/culture/23652475/tra…
Everyone, everywhere should be able to choose if and when they become pregnant. So pleased to work with @gatharin, @ReproHealthMeg, and the rest of the fab team at @jhpiego to launch our new #familyplanning strategy and help make this a reality: jhpiego.org/story/a-new-visi…
As public health communicators, we are constantly sifting through science and data in order to talk about the work we do. But we can also *turn to science* to help us #tellbetterstories and enact change.
Thank you to @annsearight, @yewande_o, and @enodine from @RealGoodCenter for presenting two great sessions on the science of communications and story building at our @Jhpiego Comms Retreat this week. You’ve left us all with much to think about!
Thrilled to write about a Nigerian social media campaign, VALOR, that used human-centered design, social media, and virtual outreach workers to improve men's entry into the HIV cascade. Check out the great work from this @Jhpiego-run project! @ManyaDotson jhpiego.org/story/claim-your…
Our team in Pakistan is doing really excellent work on infection prevention and control in hospitals, thx to @CDCgov funding. Read more in one of my latest for @Jhpiego 👇

Thrilled to be closing out 2021 by starting a new comms gig at @Jhpiego. Excited and ready to jump into storytelling, digital support, more for a wonderful org and even more wonderful team. Thanks for the warm welcome so far!
Great point from @WorldOfMythos' @PriyankSMathur at today's @UN@Purpose event on #misinformation that social media literacy should be seen as a "vaccine" for the infodemic. We will never be able to completely eliminate misinformation. Best bet is to try to inoculate against it.
Excellent new piece from @zeynep in @nytopinion on #COVID19 vaccine hesitancy in the US: "Science’s ability to understand our cells and airways cannot save us if we don’t also understand our society and how we can be led astray." nytimes.com/2021/10/15/opini…
Breaking News: YouTube is banning several prominent anti-vaccine activists as part of an effort to remove all vaccine misinformation from its platform.

Vaccines bring us closer to the places and people we love. Grateful that #COVID19Vaccines allowed for a safe, fully-vaccinated friend adventure at @NewRiverNPS this past weekend. #VaccinesWork
