*Leadership*
โThe standard you walk past is the standard you acceptโ
This is so important for all levels of leadership in schools. Model this to colleagues when walking the school
When leaders accept standards against the school expectations it weakens the culture
The idea that ' we shouldn't ask students questions because it will provoke anxiety' assumes that students cannot cope with being asked things, which makes it more likely they never learn to cope with it.
Task completion is a poor proxy for learning; this is something I wished I'd known in my early years of teaching. Here is a one-pager I have created for @PepsMccrea, summarising his notion of Backwards Planning.
Yesterday, I said my final goodbyes to my 98 year old Grandma. She was loved by so many. Itโs hit me today that I no longer have any grandparents left ๐ข I know how blessed I am to have had someone for 46 years. Gone, but will never be forgotten xx
