In my 30s, one thing was clear: I didn't want to spend 8-10 hours a day sitting at a desk.
So now, to escape that, I spend 12-16 hours a day sitting at a desk, building projects and an audience.
The escape is going great.
How to climb the corporate ladder. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly version.
The Ugly:
- Work twice as hard as required
- Make sure leadership sees it
- Rebrand as AI-native
- Survive multiple layoffs
- Survive burnout
- Wait for your boss to get promoted
- Repeat for 3 to 5 years
- Congratulations, you might get promoted
The Bad:
- Be friends with a founder
- Pretend to work hard
- Get promoted twice in 18 months
The Good:
- Build something on the side
- Create a product that solves real pain
- Promote yourself
Underrated move: engage with followers who followed you and never engaged back. A like, a reply, anything. It's "hey, I'm still here, another opening if you want it."
Anyone else doing this?
BREAKING: With Mythos and Fable blocked for all foreign nationals, Ursula von der Leyen has called an urgent EU emergency meeting. To be held in September after summer break. 300-page draft regulation for a competing European model. Approval expected by 2027. Project start: 2028. Delivery: 2035.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.
