Obviously US have the resources to be v.good at football etc. But football has a funny way of exposing/representing the psychology of a nation and this v.capitalist attitude regarding sheer raw physical/economic power would possibly be a thing that holds them back.
I agreed until you said the US team has some of the best athletes the country has to offer… Christian Pulisic is the best player we have and he’s not even half the ATHLETE Tyreek Hill is. The rest of the world is just lucky soccer isn’t our number 1 sport.

Is quite funny that those two Larnaca games at Selhurst felt like the deepest defence possible but give them leeway as from a much smaller league…Still a decent amount more possession than Arsenal managed on Sat (who can’t possibly be expected to do more) and didn’t concede…

Have to say not that worried about the ‘easy to win’ the conference league stuff at the moment. Obviously Villa, Forest and Ipswich don’t win European trophies in 70s/80s if their high point came at a different era. It’s kind of the reward for everything else.

Guess long term we’ll see how it shakes out (like Forest/Ipswich/Villa) Ultimately it’s something that very few clubs do and will stay with us for ever. We’ll just see how it looks in 10/20/30/40 years. For now…champions of Europe…we know what we are…

We also won the FA Cup. Of all the teams who seem to be in Europe every season time after time for doing very little..first time FA cup winners going onto win a European trophy doesn’t seem like an issue.

We got unjustly demoted from Europa league and batter Villa (the winners) every time we play them (including a semi final) beat City in a final, took Arsenal to penalties with our reserves after 3 games in 6 days in Carabao…We are at the very least cup tie champions of Europe…

Have to say. I don’t think Brighton will win conference next season. Appreciate premier league is overpowered etc but unless you’re Chelsea levels of wealth , it’s still a huge battle of character that I don’t think a B club has….

Think this is the most pertinent point. Is an understandable element of some wanting to rise above the Wild West of football discourse with a technocrat response. But think that’s very much missing the point, it was a ridiculous spectacle (that has been coming)
Replying to @Millar_Colin
I feel like when you have a number of players from both teams fouling each other on more or less every set piece, there is a little bit more to it than "just make the right decision duh".

Would be incredibly surprised if this happened. Guess the broad step up is that while Palace are a selling club, we tend to get 3 years out of our stars whereas Bournemouth are more of a pure player trading model…

Plus London, bigger fanbase etc etc but not sure that would be a worthy pull.
