Hooray! @ladybirdbrowser has passed the 90% threshold on web-platform-tests! 📈🎉 This is the arbitrary limit Apple says we must reach to be considered an eligible alternative browser engine on iOS. ( other requirements) So proud of the team for getting us this far 💜

“What’s the point of MFA when I can just get into your app with a session cookie?” It’s a great question. Stealing session cookies is quickly becoming the next low hanging fruit for bad actors. But don’t worry, we have an ace up our sleeve. Device Bound Session Creds (DBSC)

I stand with @dhh because they’ll come for me next. Eventually they’ll come for you, too. It’s time we put our feet down and say “no” to these losers who demand everyone share their exact opinions or get smeared, fired, etc. Let’s usher in a new era of OSS: one where everyone is welcome, and nobody tells other people what they must think and say.
A group of Lefist Activists are pushing for the Ruby on Rails project to remove the project’s founder (@dhh) because they claim he “holds racist and transphobic views” and “other traits undesirable”. This group, which compares themselves to the French resistance during WWII, is also demanding the adoption of a “modern Code of Conduct”. github.com/Floppy/plan-vert-…

I've seen comments like this about the JavaScript trademark: "Oracle bought Sun, it's their property" But trademark law doesn't work like that. A mark must be actively used. If it's abandoned or becomes generic, it no longer belongs to anyone. 15 U.S.C. §1127 says a mark is "abandoned" if: • Use has been discontinued (3 years is evidence), or • The owner's conduct causes it to become generic. That's exactly the case with "JavaScript"

Professionals don't use FFmpeg and FFprobe. They use extremely expensive software that runs FFmpeg inside (and that vendor contributes nothing back)

Hey! I have a question. Is FFprobe actually a reliable tool for analyzing media files? Do professionals really use it in real projects or are there better alternatives?@FFmpeg

Shopify will enable USDC (Stablecoins on @Base) in Checkout via Shopify Payments and Shop Pay. Early access starts today, roll out throughout the year. We think that stablecoins are a natural way to transact on the Internet and worked with coinbase to develop the commerce payment protocol smart contract that powers this work

👨🏻‍💻We needed a way to efficiently ship 100s of important, but non-critical screens in the @Shopify app. But Webviews are slow, janky, and have terrible UX. So, we made them fast, look native, and feel native. We first made them 6x faster by preloading, caching, and pooling 🏎️.
