Today, Danish Parliament adopted a new Penal Code chapter criminalizing #torture, #warcrimes, and #crimesagainsthumanity (100 for, 9 against). Bill L58 ratifies key amendments to the #ICC Statute, incl. the crimes of aggression, #genocide, and starvation as a method of #warfare.

Terrible news and a direct result of Italian government policy, leaving a massive gap in the civilian fleet saving lives in the Central Mediterranean.

❗MSF has been forced to end operations on our rescue vessel, Geo Barents, due to restrictive Italian laws and policies. Since June 2021, the ship saved 12,675 lives in the Central Mediterranean.
