Too bad, local MSM cannot hide this news. The Speaker seems to have a penchant for “heavy luggage”. That’s what they haul during ayuda fair—literally and figuratively. And the Congress, the people’s representatives as they proclaim themselves to be, has no issue about it.

What are the crimes that they are being held for? For being a sister and/or business associate of Alice Guo? This is akin to hostage-taking.

Good job, Sara. Expose these trapos, users and opportunists—which they all are. Hontiveros has the gall to pretend that it’s not about Sara, that it’s nothing personal, when she’s been publicly maligning Sara and the Dutertes. Even in a budget hearing, she can’t act objectively.
‘I DO NOT APPRECIATE THIS KIND OF ATTITUDE’ Nagkainitan sina Senator Risa Hontiveros at VP Sara Duterte nang talakayin ng Senado ang proposed 2025 budget ng Office of the Vice President nitong Martes, August 20, 2024. Nagsimula ang kanilang sagutan matapos tanungin ni Hontiveros ang nilalaman ng librong hinihingan ng P10 million budget ng OVP. PANOORIN: youtube.com/watch?v=-6hX29Xd…

Had PGMA succeeded in changing the charter into a federal and parliamentary system, we could have retained, at the helm of government, a strong PM with political will and independent foreign policy. We could be on the way to becoming the next Singapore. Now we're camote...

Former president Rodrigo Duterte turned combatant once again as he challenged the House of Representatives to “open the books,” referring to its financial documents, and accused its members of having pork barrel after the House removed Vice President Sara Duterte’s proposed multi-million confidential funds for 2024. Dear Usec Jonathan Malaya, With all due respect, allow me to address your recent pronouncements where you are ventilating your concern about some of our countrymen espousing “Pro Beijing” narrative, as you have categorized it. Being in government, and in national security at that, it is very well within your purview to raise such concern, especially in times when tensions between our country and China seem to be escalating. Then again, while you mentioned that you are keeping a close eye on these “pro-Beijing” individuals and groups, you seem to have been only looking at one side, and is ignoring another superpower which is keenly involving itself in this issue. I sincerely believe that if one is indeed Pro-Philippines, as what WE should be, and what your posturing would like us to believe, then we should also be raising concerns on the US clawing its way into this issue, whether clandestine or covert or otherwise. Perhaps instead of echoing known “Pro-Washington” individuals and groups about the so-called Chinese aggression, maybe you would rather make a pronouncement that the National Security Council, which is the government institution that you are representing, is keenly observing ALL of those groups and individuals who are espousing foreign interests that may run counter with our own. Above that, you may also want to assure the Filipino people that our security cluster in government is not acting ala Gestapo in focusing on monitoring our own citizenry and is itching to stifle dissent, but rather, that you are invoking national security because what this government wants is to preserve and enhance our democratic ideals, as well as upholding the true welfare of the citizenry. A Filipino can be Pro CHINA or pro US in his sincere belief that either superpower can best serve the nation’s interest. And he can be blinded by any of the narratives out there being indoctrinated to him, and whether it is patriotism or treachery is subjective. That is something you cannot actually regulate nor categorize as a security threat because that is the very essence of freedom and democracy. Of course, its different if what you are implying is espionage, but is it? So please, do not fall into that trap of being part of a fear mongering cabal out to divide your countrymen. You are known before as true public servant of the Republic. Kindly stay that way.

Because of a flawed Constitution, we really do not have a choice but to accept and embrace this Bicameral System, even as we generally view it as rotten and corrupt to its core. It is therefore so ludicrous and so absurd to see this “I STAND WITH HOR” campaign because no sane Filipino will ever stand up for his or her congressman, especially in matters of public funding and usage of taxpayer money. This is the sort of political grandstanding that will not galvanize the people in support of Congress. Rather, this will most likely enrage the citizenry to demand more than transparency and accountability of how our money was spent. The French revolution was said to have been sparked by a “let them eat cake” comment by the elite, and as simplistic as that may be, this current Congress should not be as dense, disoriented, discordant and tone deaf to believe that the Filipino people is in sync with their drama. This move is already backfiring and seriously, people are getting angry. We cannot stand with the HOR. We can’t even like it even if we try.

Filipinos should remember that the USA and EU never helped us fight ISIS-Marawi Siege they initially blocked arms delivery badly needed by our soldiers. But Russia and China were the first to send weapons upon request of PRRD. How is the True Allies?
