Labour’s answer?
A salary sacrifice tax raid that HMRC says will force 2.88 million workers to cut pension contributions, including 660,000 basic-rate taxpayers.
Labour’s policy is clear: punish retirement saving with higher taxes, even as millions already aren’t saving enough.

Wales has a very serious problem with this degrowth mindset. Bristol is one of the UK's highest income cities, it's a very short journey from Newport and the M4 bottleneck chokes off much of the prosperity that could spillover.
I'm going to be contraversial. All those who moved to Wales but work in Bristol, knowing the problem of the bryn glas tunnels, can move back or put up with it. You had a choice, you still have a choice so stop bitching.

Just the planning application alone for Heathrow's third runway will cost £800 million.
It cost less than half that, £330m inflation adjusted, to actually build Manchester's Runway 2, which is the most recent runway built in the UK.

Note that a graduate in late 20s earning £30k pays a marginal rate of 37%: income tax NI loan repayment.
Someone in late 60s earning £30k pays income tax at 20%. That’s all. And they’ll have a c£12k state pension.
