If you squint, you can almost make out the goal at the far end 😂
This is where Messi and Argentina will play against Jordan What an absolute beauty man. Imagine going from this to watching Stamford Bridge.

It’s a pretty good effort to visit one continent, consistently, for 20 years and not stumble across fine dining, fine art, modern stadiums, sky scrapers and incredible landscapes.

I’m a Canadian who’s been visiting Europe, yearly, for two decades. The worthwhile things about Europe are all historic— its glory days were in centuries past. Texas barbecue, diners, and big, cold drinks actually are better than anything contemporary Europe has to offer.

Golf…. Ok lads, calm down now.

This might be the weirdest take of the World Cup so far 😂
My literal biggest pet peeve in the world is that foreign countries, including the UK and Australia, refer to sports teams in the plural while the US and Canada refer to them in the singular except when the team nickname is plural. Other countries: “Qatar tie up the match 1-1 against Switzerland.” “England win final against Costa Rica.” “Tottenham avoid regulation by beating West Ham, which were without their best players.” All those teams should be referred to in the singular, but are not. America: “Los Angeles beats New York to win the World Series,” but also, “The Dodgers win at Yankee Stadium.” “San Antonio narrowly loses to the Knicks” or “The Spurs lose to New York.” Basically America just uses the singular for the city name but the plural for nickname. This is the correct way to do this, in my opinion. It becomes much more annoying in the World Cup where some Americans adopt the European/UK way of talking about teams, so the USMNT becomes plural instead of singular. “The U.S. team beat Paraguay,” they’ll say, not “The U.S. team beats Paraguay.” Sounds petty but it seems even more petty to use incorrect grammar just because the Euros do.

Their teams 😂
Asian fans been waking up at 4am on a weekday to catch their teams in Champions League for decades and never complained. The world doesn’t revolve around the UK

A short list of some other sports where the UK also has world class teams: - Cricket - Rugby - Tennis - Cycling - Athletics - Formula 1 - Golf - Rowing - Sailing
The only reason why the US doesn’t win every World Cup is because our best athletes choose football, baseball, basketball, and hockey over soccer It’s like we are sending our 5th string up against everyone else’s best

Looking forward to all activities being equalised to the same rate of VAT then.
Why should private schools not pay VAT it’s an absurd argument, if you offer a product or service adding value to the economy you pay value added tax so the state can continue supporting said economy

What the hell is a breakfast ball 😂 And why is the internet losing its mind over them… Isn’t it just a mulligan?
this is very cut and dry everyone (outside of official tourneys/matches) takes breakfast balls. Most folks do not count them against their score, especially when playing with buddies. Ok, got it the hullabaloo that Smokes experienced was because he posted his "play 3 holes" video, carded a birdie on hole #1, and made no mention of the breakfast ball this is a super niche issue that applies only to people posting golf content so I think everyone else is safe lol

The bigger question is why weren’t conducting government business on WhatsApp. Politicians are aware this is dangerous because they legislate against encrypted messages in other sectors

The latest Mandelson files released yesterday only published his text messages with Mandelson No 10: "The Prime Minister does use disappearing messages. As you'll be aware some Ministers do use that function in line with the Government's advice"" x.com/PolitlcsUK/status/2061…

Arsenal fans crying when they lose, also water is wet 😘
The referee from about 30 minutes onwards was bizarre, it was like he was genuinely angry at us for the way we were playing Even neutrals around us were absolutely baffled by it, so many strange decisions, and simply refereeing us and PSG to 2 different standards
32
If you think this is bad, try supporting a side outside the big 6 😂
Knew the officiating was bad but I didn’t know it was this bad yesterday

Ok, but when can we have faster trains from Bournemouth and a revision of the ticket prices? Also a buffet car or drinks service?
I promised we would fix our broken railways. Today Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express return to public ownership. Run for the public good, not private profit. This Labour government is putting passengers first.

If he’d done his homework, this would have been done before the final… Fail to prepare
🚨 Mikel Arteta: “I watched all the penalties in the competition in the last 72 hours to understand what is a penalty and what is not… …that one on Madueke can easily be a penalty”.

Arsenal fans, finally experiencing what the rest of the PL experienced all season 😂 0 pens, 0 red cards - playing like they do 😂

Tbf, I’ve raised the question with the Treasury re the negative impacts on growth the income tax cliff edges have created and asked what modelling has been done on if smoothing these out would support growth, still waiting for a response so assume no modelling has been done?
Play the ball not the man, Andrew! There's this weird thing going on where it's become trendy on the right to assert that the only relevant experience for political decision making is having run a business. I find it odd that someone can think there's no merit in acquiring skills, knowledge and competence at working in policy and politics before becoming an MP. Or that different people can't bring valid broader life experience/perspectives to the offices they hold. Very blinkered!

People in glass houses….
Brits are so poor they view 500 dollars to not die from heat stroke as something unaffordable and a luxury good

🚨Important policy announcement: Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile. A Reform government will ABOLISH income tax on hours worked beyond 40 hours a week, for incomes below £75,000 a year. It’s time to REWARD hard work, not punish it! 🇬🇧
