The US does a lot of dumb shit. Objectively dumb. Loud politics. Culture wars. Arguing about plastic straws while bridges fall apart.
But ask anyone on the planet what America is about and they’ll give you an answer immediately. Freedom. Guns. Hollywood. Tech. Chaos. Opportunity. Something like that. Even if it’s wrong, it’s there. The memory is vivid.
Now Denmark.
Quietly one of the best-run countries on Earth. Clean cities. Trust. Digital government that actually works. People biking everywhere like it’s not snowing. They solved problems the US hasn’t even noticed exist yet.
And yet… when was the last time Denmark crossed your mind? (Yeah, I know, Trump and Greenland… but before that?)
Nobody talks about it unless they’re already into urban planning or happiness indexes. Denmark doesn’t scream. It doesn’t repeat itself. It doesn’t shove its story in your face.
America is the drunk guy at the party breaking things but telling stories all night. Denmark cleaned the apartment, paid the bills, went to bed early… and nobody noticed.
Being good is not enough. And nobody is entirely good, right, Maersk? If you don’t talk about your dark side, someone louder - and often dumber - will define the world instead.
It’s about being present. It’s about getting into people’s heads. It’s about being that repetitive driving instructor, the annoying guy at the pub, or even Trump himself. You can hate him, mock him, be exhausted by him… but you can’t not know who he is.
For your content marketing, this means: be loud, be heard. Repeat yourself until it becomes normal. Otherwise, even if you’re doing something better than most, nobody will know. Don't wait for the 'right moment' or to be 'perfect'. Just f***ing post anything. That's how you stay in people's minds.
