RIP Victor Gerley.
Gerley, who passed away in March, received six caps as a goalkeeper with the @USMNT between 1965-68.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Gerley in 2015 and we talked about the controversy behind the 1966 WCQ run.

Goalkeepers, don’t leave your body unprotected when you’re going into a collision.
It’s a contact sport so we must be brave but don’t needlessly punish your body by leaving a leg out for the opposition to clatter into. Opposing strikers are not there to protect you.

Goalkeepers, that vertical 10 yard pass to your CDM facing your goal is a real IQ test for YOU.
Quality opposition will incentive the pass then pounce right as you play the ball. We don’t always have to choose a knife’s edge of success.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Former Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Jeffrey Dewsnup, the youngest player ever to sign for the club, is suing RSL for $100 million.
The lawsuit alleges hazing by four former teammates and claims the club mishandled his injuries.
The players named are: Aaron Herrera, David Ochoa, Tate Schmitt & Justen Glad
The coach named is: goalkeeper coach Ignacio Hernandez
