Several groups expected to rally outside of Henry McMaster’s office today to oppose his anticipated announcement of a special session this afternoon.
As has been extensively reported, he has already informed members of the House and Senate he fully intends to do so.

One of the biggest problems in SC lack of respect, giving a chance & opportunity to those that put themselves on the ballot regardless of the political math or chances of winning. so many are told - they have no shot before they even start.

This is not 100% true. 14 women are on the ballot for Senate in Nov. - 2 Rs and 12 Ds. Regardless of political math, gerrymandered maps or assumptions, let's give these women the respect & opportunity they deserve to earn votes and potentially expand gender diversity come Nov.

If we truly want to see a state house that represents us - all of us - if we truly want to champion more women in positions of power - and show others that they too can run and will be supported - let's not count them out of the ring before an election has even happened.
