Retrogaming of the 8 and 16 bit variety. That's my jam. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Donald Duck's Playground (C64) Y'know, educational games usually aren't my thing. But those smart chaps at Sierra On-Line really did something quite good here. I mean, sure, it's not Armalyte or Ultima IV. But I rather enjoyed recording this one. ๐Ÿ˜Š youtube.com/watch?v=CDTeJl7nโ€ฆ

Stunt Car Racer (Framerate Unleashed โ€” Amiga) I'm still in two minds about this one. I mean, it's great to be able to see Stunt Car Racer without it dropping any frames. But all the landings, and tilt of the corners feel so smooth now. Too smooth? ๐Ÿ˜„ youtube.com/watch?v=fJGlgY5Hโ€ฆ

Stunt Car Racer Unleashed (Amiga) I don't know what it is: If I play this game on a slightly slower Amiga (a virtual 68030 @ around 30MHz), so it's dropping a few frames, somehow it feels 'better' to me. I'm too retro to handle a perfect frame-rate. ๐Ÿ˜„ youtube.com/watch?v=znRPl_Hgโ€ฆ

Who remembers when CD games first started to appear? What would game-authors do with those oodles of bytes a CD could contain? That's when that FMV-machine of a game called "Mega Race" came out. (Which had a level of ridiculousness that I really enjoyed.) ๐Ÿ˜„

Bank Panic (arcade) I just love the ridiculousness of this games premise: one lone lawman, defending the entire bank against a continual onslaught of robbers. Excellent cartoony graphics too, that make it a joy to play. ๐Ÿ‘

Elevator Action Returns (arcade) Over a decade after Elevator Action 1, and they managed to take the original concept and turn it into something modern and fun. An excellent game. ๐Ÿ‘ (There's two player co-op, and the addition of bombs and powerup's.) youtube.com/watch?v=3OQ4znMlโ€ฆ

Sinistar (arcade) Sinistar, for me, was one of the best shoot-em-up's of the classic arcade era. Lots of things to shoot, lots shooting at you and, my word, the voice of Sinistar coming from those speakers. Chills. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Best played in the sit-down-cab. youtube.com/watch?v=AY_2jWfgโ€ฆ

Sega made me do it.. Bought Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing โ€” Steam sale. Reviews were a bit concerning about compatibility issues, but it ran well for me. ๐Ÿ˜Š But do you think there's an option to turn off rumble? Nope! Not a one. I hunted, I Googled. Opted for a permanent fix. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

If anyone's concerned that I might regret killing the rumble function: Nope! I hate hate *hate* rumble. It's two off-balance motors, and it *feels* like two off-balance motors to me. Not like I crashed into a barrier. And the controller doesn't seem to care! So, yay! ๐Ÿ˜„

Hyper Olympic / Track & Field (MAME) In the Javelin event, if you're running fast enough, you can go for the maximum throwing angle, and skewer a bird! ๐Ÿฆ I mean, what more argument do you need to try it? ๐Ÿ˜„

Out of town for a few days so I brought the old GP2x handheld with me. Not sure I ever really tried the CapriceGP2x Amstrad CPC emulator on it before. Thats a fun one. Just had a go of a few random games, but I think I've got to dig into Amstrad gaming more. Is a cool machine. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I never played Space Taxi on the C64 back in the day. So when I discovered Air Taxi on the Amiga (on Aminet) I thought it was a beautifully original idea. Air Taxi also supported the joystick 3 4 parallel port adapter, so full multiplayer Taxi madness could occur. Great times. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Boulderdash (Amiga) There were quite a few people who got their Amiga, no longer had their C64, and really got a kick out of the occasional game appearing on Aminet that would let them re-experience their C64 favourites. Boulderdรคsh was one of the more faithful conversions. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Wave Race (N64) It can take me ages to try out new emulators. Did N64 through the old Project64 (slightly temperamental) and RetroArch (which can do anything, but has such a complex multi-system configuration.) Tried Mupen on its own. It's really nice! youtube.com/watch?v=eNoIKpLaโ€ฆ

Hatari (Atari ST emulator) In the 16bit era I was all-in on Amiga: 500, 1200, 4000, with 68030's, 68040's and the like added in in-between. So I thought now was about time I explored the world of Atari ST. ..and I gotta say: quite a fun machine. Some games not so different. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (arcade) Been getting into Mario Kart style racers lately. This one has that slick Sega style where they don't get caught up in over-complicating things. Can't for the life of me work out how drift, despite instructions. ๐Ÿ˜„ youtube.com/watch?v=zBPEtqjHโ€ฆ

Android 2 (C64) A shoot-em-up can become a whole different beast when you're roaming round claustrophobic maze corridors with evil droids around every corner. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Android 2 (Spectrum) The Speccy game came first, I think. There's an Amstrad version I haven't tried. There's more animation to the robots in the Speccy game, compared to C64. Gives them a bit more character. Also the Millitoids take 3 shots, not 2. An unpleasant surprise. ๐Ÿ˜‹
