The farmers market, another example of something Asia does better than the West. Local markets in Asia are fresh, delicious and actually cheaper than grocery stores. Plus you can find them every few streets! How did farmers markets turn into selling the same shit grocery stores do but in straw packaging for 5x the cost?? What was the point in cutting out the middle man?
The farmers market is cool because farmers can skip the middleman and sell directly to you, saving a lot of money… which is why everything somehow costs five times more than it does at a normal grocery store.

The SpaceX IPO alone created over 4,000 new millionaires, including janitors and cafeteria workers. Why would anyone be against this??
Imagine if legacy media educated the masses that the ultra successful don't have a cartoonish pit of cash they swim in, but instead had shares in companies that benefited everyone (including them). Maybe we'd have less dumb people scared of success.

bro immigrated from Mexico and took a $28/hr contract welding job in 2015. didn't even know what SpaceX was. they gave him $10,000 in stock and let him buy more through payroll deductions. that stake is now worth $880,000. and he's one of 4,400 employees who became millionaires on Friday. welders. technicians. cafeteria staff.

Opinion: SpaceX IPO makes Elon Musk the first trillionaire. Here’s how to properly hate him theglobeandmail.com/business…

I'm all for ending the doom scroll, but this is after 3 posts - really?

Gmail emoji reactions, has it always just sent the emoji as a full email response to other email providers?? 😂

Can we ever expect custom behaviors in @WHOOP journal? The curated list is great and ticks most of the things I'd like to track, but there are so many I'd be curious to see the direct impact of. For example I'd love to add: - Screen time (Number of hours for the day) - Movement snacks (Yes/No if took breaks from sitting every hour for quick set of pushups/air squats) - Deep focused work sessions (Yes/No number of hours for the day) I imagine it should be fairly easy to extend the existing journal functionality to allow custom insights using the same type of metric tracking that already exists?

Great, more of this please! Success should be encouraged, but we all know the media will try to tear him down every step of the way 🙄

One of the things Asia consistently does right is showing pictures of dishes at restaurants instead of just the name of the dish. Why is this not the norm everywhere?

Got bitten by a cat in Phuket Started antibiotics, rabies vaccine, etc. @WHOOP recovery took a hit for a few days, higher skin temp, RHR spiked, sleep score dipped. Asked whoop's AI chat after a few days if any of this could be an early signal of some infection. Never knew it had a followup feature that will track future metrics for topics in previous chats. Very reassuring 👍

The bar is so low that just getting out of bed in the morning puts you above the average. Somehow the generation with the most access to knowledge seems to be the one throwing their incredible position away. How does this even happen??

2 strength updates on @WHOOP this week! Glad to see more focus going towards strength training.
They listened and fixed it! @WHOOP now counts strength workouts with the proper strain Before if you did light cardio it would give a higher strain score than a heavy weightlifting workout Will report back after today's workout to see the strain

Copyright claims used to take days to get processed on @instagram & @facebook. Now they take only 3 minutes 🤯 Not sure if this is due to our account size now or Meta has just improved their copyright processing.

Is this a common issue with @pixabay? We followed their license: ✅ Non-monetized content ✅ Not stand-alone audio ✅ Nothing illegal in the video etc etc etc...

The power of social media (and sharing issues in public). Tried their internal submit a ticket when I first saw this: No response. Tried their helpline, after 4 calls to get through, finally sat on hold for 15 mins while an agent investigated who ended up just raising a ticket for another team. Post on X, they directly reached out and fixed within an hour. No need for international calling, sitting on hold or paying for international calls to talk to someone. Just post on X and they'll come to you 🤷
Banned on @bookingcom I didn't even know that was possible? I travel full time and book 90% of my nights throughout the year on @bookingcom, have multiple bookings in the next few weeks too. Are they just cancelled now 🤔 Have used it for over a decade without issues, completely out of the blue. Is this normal?

Economic suicide 🤦
NETHERLANDS HOUSE PASSES 36% TAX ON UNREALIZED GAINS As expected, the Dutch House of Representatives has approved a 36% tax on unrealized capital gains, with only forward loss offsets permitted. The proposal now moves to the Senate, where parties that supported the bill also hold a majority, making final approval likely. Critics warn the measure could disrupt long term investment strategies, weaken compounding effects, and encourage capital outflows. Several right leaning parties had publicly criticized the proposal in advance, but most ultimately voted in favor, citing fiscal constraints and the cost of delaying or revising the plan, stating "we don't like it either but we have to".
