Plain and simple, Portland get your collective stuff together. The ramifications of losing one of the states biggest revenue generators would have a lasting impact that would significantly hurt not just the city but the ensure state. This is insane. Don’t play with fire.

Shout-out to William Doffermyre, Solicitor of the Department of the Interior, who is the person primarily responsible for pushing the National Links Trust out of its management of East Potomac Golf Course, and for scuttling a planned Tom Doak restoration in favor of an absolutely ridiculous Tom Fazio blow-up that will result in D.C. golf becoming less affordable and accessible. Doffermyre is allegedly very interested in becoming a big muckety-muck in the golf world. Good luck with that, Bill!

Under the NLT plan, East Potomac was in the process of being restored, for free, by Tom Doak, maybe the greatest living golf course designer. It will now likely be worked on by Tom Fazio, the Cheesecake Factory of golf course designers. And it will cost 5x more to play.

This hasn't resonated yet outside golf, but what this administration is essentially doing is taking over a national park for invented reasons so that the Trump Organization can run it and profit from it. Imagine if Yellowstone suddenly cost $1,000 but mostly served lobbyists.
