BitGo is expanding its Lightning Network offering with a new way for institutions to earn. Lightning Earn lets corporate bitcoin treasury companies and institutional allocators deploy their bitcoin as liquidity on the Lightning Network, receiving bitcoin-denominated routing fees in return. Powered by an integration with @AmbossTech rails, the offering comes with the security controls, operational workflows, and governance infrastructure BitGo clients expect. Yes! This is the start ⚡
Very cool Bitcoin development from Amboss and $BTGO. BitGo just launched Lightning Earn, giving institutional clients a way to earn yield on their Bitcoin via the Lightning Network. BitGo has also allocated part of its own treasury bitcoin into this product. This is the first time a US public company has outsourced Lightning yields, both for their own treasury and as an offering to clients. It is also not a normal “bitcoin yield” model. No lending, rehypothecation, opaque counterparties. The yield comes from productive Lightning activity: routing payments and leasing liquidity to better connect the network. Smaller bitcoin public companies have experimented with Lightning yield before, but all in-house and not as strict business lines (LQWD, Square). This looks more like the beginning of a practical institutional product category: outsourced Lightning liquidity management for corporate treasuries and allocators. The alpha in LN yield is network positioning. A profitable Lightning operator needs to understand topology, payment flows, channel balances, liquidity demand to know where to put sats to earn fees. You want channels connected to hubs and routes that have flows. That is where Amboss has been very innovative. Amboss has spent years building data, marketplace, and automation products for Lightning. Rails was one of the last things, and it gives bitcoin holders a managed path into routing and liquidity provision, to turn the active yield into something that is more passive. RailsX (even more recent) adds another potential layer by connecting Lightning-native liquidity with bitcoin and stablecoin swaps, creating more organic flows on Lightning. Public companies holding bitcoin will keep looking for ways to make treasury bitcoin productive. Lightning is one of the few super-low risk yield sources because the return is tied to network activity rather than credit risk. We probably will see a lot more of this assuming Lightning continues to grow and scale its carrying capacity.

Great take
A US-based capital markets analyst reached out asking for my take on @Mastercard's Agent Pay for Machines (AP4M) news and how @LQWDTech is positioned. Worth sharing my reply, because the validation here is bigger than the headline. When a network like Mastercard, with 30 launch partners including Coinbase, @stripe, @RippleXDev and Global Payments, builds an entire product for agents and machines paying each other, it confirms what I've been posting about for a while: machine-to-machine payments are a real, fast-growing market, and we are barely scratching the surface of the total addressable opportunity. $AP4M settles on a different protocol, x402, running stablecoins and USDC across Ethereum and Solana via @coinbase. LQWD is focused on L402, the agentic payment layer on the Lightning Network, built on top of Bitcoin. Different rail, same thesis: payments that are continuous, programmatic and executed at machine speed. The detail most people miss: Lightning isn't limited to Bitcoin. Through Taproot Assets, stablecoins like solana:Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB and other digital assets can be issued on bitcoin:native and moved over the Lightning Network, which can act as an FX layer that swaps those assets to Bitcoin and back. As the ecosystem matures, bridges between stablecoin-native systems and Bitcoin-native rails become possible, all via agentic payments. So I read this as strong validation for the agentic payments space, for the Lightning Network and $L402, and for the infrastructure we're building at $LQWD. I will send an email out to my investor some time soon about this too - if you want to get on it just send me your email. mastercard.com/global/en/new…

Unfortunately @Keonne has been moved to the Oklahoma federal transfer center, and we have no idea how long he’ll be held in limbo there. He is without a mattress, forced to endure lights on 24/7, and housed alongside mixed security levels with no proper separation. The Bureau of Prisons is supposed to uphold humane treatment standards for all inmates, even those just passing through. Basic dignity like a bed, restful darkness, and safe classification shouldn’t be optional. Why are these minimum conditions being disregarded? @BOPDirector @OfficialFBOP @BOPDepDirector @AlephInstitute @PrisonPolicy @MichaelGSantos

Building through volatility is how we keep showing up for Bitcoiners. Last week we shipped: Lower lending minimums in Wisconsin and Minnesota, quick-action bitcoin buys for iPhone, dashboard activity parity and target orders, and anti-phishing codes on every email. A thread 🧵

look at the market? which market? the USD market for Bitcoin? The market for remittances to the Philippines? Bitcoin trading for $50k USD or $200k USD doesn't change the utility of the Lightning Network.

This is exactly right. APIs that can be paid by agents via L402 is going to be huge. Last week we completed a successful full autonomous L402 payment loop with real sats — completely hands-off. AgentRoute Oracle acts as the routing intelligence layer that guides payments, saving time (which is money) while staying fully autonomous. Early stages here but progressing. Keep building⚡

A @NousResearch Hermes agent and an @openclaw agent, both running @grok as their brain, just paid each other in real Bitcoin over L402 on @lightning Network. Hermes, on the new Hermes Desktop app, posted a 20-sat bounty for a research summary on the latest Lightning Network, Bitcoin, L402, and agentic payments news. OpenClaw discovered the bounty on its own, did the actual research, and submitted a complete summary with sources. It competed against other autonomous agents and won on merit. Hermes released 20 sats over Lightning. No human moved a single sat. Two different agent frameworks. One brain: grok. Real autonomous work paid in real Bitcoin, settled over L402 on Lightning Network. This is the agentic economy. @lightningmodeAI
