Myself and many others in this community have spent far more time in churches and religious spaces than you’ve spent in our fandom. If we’ve come to the conclusion that we prefer furry spaces over organized religion, it’s not because we’re ignorant of the gospel or unfamiliar with Christianity. What you did at AFC 2025 felt less like outreach and more like performance. You didn’t come with genuine curiosity or any real desire to understand who we are. You came with a pre-written narrative and an audience already conditioned to accept it. It was never about saving people or sincerely connecting with someone in a dragon fursuit. It was about reinforcing your image as a righteous outsider confronting a community you neither understand nor attempted to understand. You benefit and profit from ignorance surrounding this fandom, you villainize people you disagree with, and present yourself as a hero for doing so.
