This February, the @SCC_eng disinvited Black experts from a speaking engagement due to their alleged “controversial” posts re Israel and Palestine. This incident raises questions about the SCC’s impartiality and the CMLA respectfully calls for a comprehensive investigation.

706,000 people are starving to death worldwide -- 577,000 of them (82%) are in Gaza. (UN) “It bears repeating, 4 out of 5 people in the world in famine, or a catastrophic type of hunger, are in Gaza right now.” - Lawyer Blinne Ni Ghralaigh before the ICJ yesterday.

1) Israel is using starvation as a method of warfare in Gaza – a war crime. New @HRW report out today: hrw.org/news/2023/12/18/isra… In the following thread, I’ll go into some of the details.

Correction @JustinTrudeau: Israel doesn't have the “right to self-defence” against a non-state actor under its occupation (art. 51 of UN Charter). And parties engaging in war must adhere to IHL principles protecting civilians. There is no justification for genocide.
I spoke with Prime Minister @Netanyahu today. I reiterated Canada’s support for Israel and its right to defend itself, in accordance with international law. We also spoke about the need for Hamas to immediately and unconditionally release those being held hostage.

This the 9th week for this trial (the 8th week of evidence) in Veltmans' terrorism trial. When the jury was selected on (Sept 6) they were told this would require 12 weeks.

On October 17, @JillDunlop1, Ontario's Minister of Colleges and Universities in @fordnation's government, launched a targeted attack against me, other professors, and students who have engaged in public speech supportive of Palestinians and critical of Israel's war on Gaza. 🧵

We can’t let kids die of hunger - we must “pause” to feed them before we continue to bomb them.
Replying to @JustinTrudeau
As we call for renewed efforts toward a two-state solution, we’ll continue to advocate for humanitarian pauses, for humanitarian aid to be delivered, and for international law to be upheld. Canada is committed to the goal of just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

This is the most active time of the year for Muslims sharing Ramadan content. Woke up this morning and my @instagram account is not functioning. Clearly shadow banned due to posting video of Al Aqsa being attacked. Nothing inflammatory about what I said at all. Unbelievable.

Even a Third Grader understands its totally unfair to remove a teacher from her job simply for wearing a religious scarf. All Canadians need to stand up against this discriminatory law passed by the Quebec government. Stand with Ms Fatemeh and the students who miss her.
This is a card Elin Wilson drew for her teacher Fatemah Anvari after she lost her position because of Bill 21, shared by @AmiraElghawaby Even a third-grader thinks this entire situation is "not fair." What exactly is the Quebec government is teaching them by doing this?
