This is a really awesome story, about a 4th grade teacher who found a way to reassure her students after having brain surgery (!!), & I'm so honored my book and I got to be a small, surprising part of it.

I had been scheduled to appear at the Plum Creek Literacy Festival next year, but after learning about the homophobic policies of the host University, I made the decision to drop out. I'm sorry to the readers I won't meet, but this feels like the right call.

Today is my #Covidiversary--1 yr since I developed symptoms of the virus. I feel sad & angry that I've been battling it for so long. But I also feel proud that, despite everything, my family & I have not only survived but thrived. I'd like to mark the day somehow. Suggestions?
