Ten years ago I started the imprint @notacultmedia. Multiple bestsellers, hundreds of shows, thousands of people. Today I am retiring the imprint and continuing the publishing program under @LouriaBooks. The catalog will look similar, though with an expanded genre pool.

So grateful for the indie x traditional hybrid I get to have under my publisher. We get the careful book design and conceptual consideration that indie publishing offers as well as the opportunity to have a packed surround-sound reading at the biggest and most iconic Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles. Thank you @lisidaniel of @notacultmedia for making my book dreams come true two times over without having to compromise my artistic vision, and, for organizing these events that make it all so surreal , so classic, so charged up and memorable.

What a privilege to be alongside this book's formation, to collaborate with Gabi as she pushes the boundaries of her literary practice. The depth of her prose—delicious prose—is a testimony to the strength of her poetic range. I admire Gabi and feel lucky to have her graceful notes on journey to read, travel with. There's a lot to love about Denzel Rust. I wasn't expecting to enjoy Mixtape Hyperborea as much as I did; scenic prose, sharp dialogue, characters that I remember growing up with. This book cracked open a nostalgic portal for me, a buoyant coming of age.
